This is a poem about the word “mean”
Where the hero is “mean”, the villain is also “mean”
But the heroine is the “meaning”, not “mean”.
I hope you may find meaningful, what I may here mean
Sometimes what we say is quite mean,
when we mean to be mean….
But more often we are never mean
and our statements are not meant to be mean,
but others derive meaning & can conclude it as mean.
Very often we say what we do not mean
and are unable to say what we really mean,
People try to then find their own meaning
and presume what we may be meaning
as meaningful, meaningless or mean.
We have no control on their assigning meaning.
Do you call an activity meaningful,
when you search for meaning in everything,
and are not happy with any meaning
which you find nice and meaningful,
unless you are able to find some meaning,
which is hurting & mean and want to regard it
as the most meaningful?
Hope I mean here what I really wanted to mean.
The activity for searching for meaning
which is mean & hurting in everything
is indeed very mean and meaningless.
But people do indulge in such meanness…
Sometimes a comment quite meaningful
is taken by recipient as meaning mean
but very rarely at our site, I mean.
For here we members are all loving & well meaning.
And know that any guest visitor making a mean comment
Reveals and exposes his own envy & meanness
Otherwise he will comment with meaning & not be mean
A dominant boss to impress assistants used to state,
“I always mean what I say, and say what I mean,
Hope you all understand what I mean?”
“Yes, I understand sir, you are always quite mean”
Was the response of a nervous poor assistant,
new to the job, who blurted out what he did not mean.
Pray, I don’t get such a response here to de-mean
To summarize;
We should be always meaningful but never mean.
Make comments which are meaningful and not mean
Should take comments to mean as meaningful and not mean.
And thus be always in love with good meaning.
Kindly go to the starting stanza, Have I conveyed what I did mean….?
